The idea in plain English
Cashback websites send shoppers to participating retailers through tracked links. When an eligible purchase is recognised and approved, the retailer or its tracking network can pay commission to the cashback website. Part of that process may then appear as cashback in the member's account.
You normally pay the retailer's checkout price first. Cashback is separate, arrives later and is subject to the live conditions shown for the retailer.
The four-step shopping route
- Open TopCashback and sign in. A transaction needs to be associated with your account.
- Search for the retailer. Read the current rate and all purchase conditions, including excluded products, voucher-code rules and any minimum spend.
- Use the main retailer button. Click from TopCashback and complete the purchase directly with that retailer in the same session.
- Monitor your account. The purchase may first show as pending and later move through other stages if the retailer validates it.
What pending, confirmed and payable mean
Recorded, not approved
The transaction appears to have tracked, but the retailer has not completed validation.
Validated in principle
The transaction has progressed, although the money may not yet be available to withdraw.
Available to withdraw
TopCashback has received the relevant commission and marks the cashback as available under its payout rules.
Descriptions and timings can vary, so the status shown in your own TopCashback account is the source to follow.
Why tracking can fail
Cashback tracking depends on a recognisable path from TopCashback to the retailer. Common problems include:
- not being signed in before clicking to the retailer;
- using aggressive cookie blocking, privacy tools or ad blockers;
- opening another voucher, price comparison or affiliate site before checkout;
- using a voucher code that was not shown as compatible;
- leaving the purchase and completing it in a different browser or later session;
- buying an excluded product or using an excluded payment method;
- returning, changing or cancelling all or part of the order.
A clean cashback journey
- Decide what you want first. Compare products and prices before starting the tracked journey.
- Close old retailer tabs. This reduces the chance that another referral source is credited.
- Allow required cookies. Review your browser settings and the retailer's consent choices.
- Click once, then finish. Go from TopCashback to the retailer and complete the order without detours.
- Keep the confirmation. Save order value, date, reference and eligible item details.
What to do if cashback is missing
First allow the normal tracking window shown by TopCashback. If the transaction still does not appear, use TopCashback's own missing cashback process and provide the requested order information. Cashback Offer cannot submit or investigate account claims because it has no access to member accounts.
How the referral link fits in
The referral link is for joining TopCashback. When an eligible new member joins through the link and completes the conditions of the promotion active at signup, the new member may receive the advertised signup benefit and the owner of this website may receive a referral reward.
Referral offer amounts and thresholds can change. The page displayed on TopCashback when you join, together with the official terms, controls eligibility.
